my cup of tea
The assignments we did in the social practice were hard for me, because I am not that much of a social person. I worry too much about what others think of me, instead of the other way around. It would be good for me as a graphic designer but also as a person, to challenge myself to be more social. Because as a graphic designer you always have to think about your target audience.
The commercial practice I thought was exciting because we had to design something for the future. The fact that we had to get a briefing from the municipality and work for them, was nothing new for me. As a freelance graphic designer I have some experience with that. But in the future it would be nice to work for a client because then you know you’ll get paid. If I really want to challenge myself I should try new things, and not choose for the commercial practice.
The Autonomous practice was a bit confusing to me. Maybe because I’m so used to working for clients and make what is expected of you. It was interesting to work with a Fine Arts student in our group. Her vision of what we should do with this assignment was the opposite of mine, because I’m so practical, and she was more about doing something that you feel passionate about. It would be hard for me to change my mindset like this, but then again, it would also be a great challenge.
Hi there, welcome to my webpage. On this webpage you will read about my experiences with the practices, and why the practices have value for me. My view on the practices is visualized in tea packages. For every practice I designed a tea bag packaging, and every practice is linked to a certain flavor. On the bottom of the page there is a conclusion, of which practice is my cup of tea.

These next couple of years I want to come up with interesting concepts, and unique ideas and/or approaches. This in addition to my technical skills would be a great starting point for my carreer as a Graphic Designer. I would say my cup of tea is either autonomous or social practice.
The commercial practice is safe and familiar. It's the vanilla of the tea for me. And what is more comforting and safe than camomile tea? Serving tip: in a sippy cup.
The autonomous practice is something new and exciting for me. This practice is about working with passion, so what flavor suits better than dragonfruit. It's about spirit, so a colorful drink, warm and with a little bit of alcohol to loosen up.
Serving tip: in a cocktail glass with cherries.
The social practice was challenging for me, there was a lot of tension for me and a bit of anxiety. This is represented by the spicy ginger tea with bubbles, an explosion of flavor.
Serving tip: in a red cup, an icon of socializing
